The L2 is the second generation of the well-known aluminum yo-yo Hurricane. Due to the Hurricane having a short sleeper, the width of the L2 has been reduced to 42mm and more rim weight has been added.
The shape of the yo-yo is very suitable for playing trick horizontally, because the camber of the body is very high, the friction between the string and the body will be reduced eventually. The hub of this yo-yo is one big selling point because you can add three extra-accessories on it. The first one is the "top caps", it allows the yo-yo spins horizontally just like a top. The second accessory is the "side bearing caps which allows to play matador style exactly same as AnY Miroc yo-yo, just simply plug in a bearing on each hub and add a cap above each bearing. The third one has the same function as side bearing caps, except open shield and surrounding umbo grooves for better seize. Without the accessories, this yo-yo can also spins as a top by grabbing both sharp points on the hubs with two fingers and turn it ninety degrees.
The finish on L2 is designed to make grinds easier. The axle is thickened for avoiding wobbles and vibrations.
Firstly, this yo-yo was named after the first letter of both designer's last name, L. Coincidentally, the online racing game "CRAZYRACING" is releasing the new kart called L2. After all, the final name of this yo-yo is L2.
36 test types were made, available at Asian Pacific Yo-Yo Challenge 2006 only.
In March 2007, 50 final types were made with identical laser engraved numbers on them, available in China.
